The afternoon was good. Interestingly the water level trying to go through the aqueduct was very low making it impossible to paddle against the current. Paddle continued hitting the bottom. Beautiful paddling day! Laurie, Alice, and Barbara put in at Knights of Columbus, Tewksbury and paddled upstream through the inundated marsh aiming for the Whipple launch.   Led by Marlies, 7 enthusiastic paddlers braved the gray skies and paddled the Shawsheen River from Grace Drive in Wilmington to Ballardvale in Andover. A successful day on the Shawsheen, SRWA and two members of the Shawsheen River Greenway collaborated to open a section of the River in Tewksbury.  

A small but extremely hardy crew, Maria, Laurie, and Kyle braved the elements to for a clean-up of the Shawsheen River beginning a Whipple Road in Tewksbury and heading towards Andover on Saturday, May 4, 2019.
