Justin Damon accepted the $1000 award grant given to SRWA from George Lima of EMD Serono at the Billerica Town meeting on 4/18. The award will be used to post signs along the Shawsheen River in Billerica to build awareness of the river and the importance of keeping it clean.
These Shawsheen River obstructions were observed while hiking in the Vale Reservation on 5/11/18 between Ballardvale and the Wingate at Andover. Many geese were enjoying the river.

Kayaking upstream from Andover to Tewksbury from Shawsheen Pines Reservation (Accross from Pfizer on Lowell Junction Road), Barbara and Alice were quickly challenged by a tree blocking the river near the Route 93 overpass. Join a rally on Earth Day to save the Merrimack. Justin Damon, President of the Shawsheen River Watershed Association will be one of the speakers. This is an opportunity to learn about the Merrimack and Shawsheen Rivers as well as SRWA.
