0.3.2020 Town of Tewksbury fall clean-up: SRWA cleans from Knights of Columbus to the beaver dam at the end of the Overlook marsh (Bridge Street). Thanks to Tom, Tommy, Bobby, and Sharon for their help on this beautiful day! We were able to gather two large black trash bags from the uplands and the KOC suggested we use their dumpster (and they gave us water!). We also paddled downstream to Bridge Street and back collecting several half full bags – no plastic bags! – just bottles, cans, etc. LOTS OF TIRES remain in the town property but Tommy and Bobby were able to pull out rusted car parts. The water is so low the submerged boat juts up as a point of interest. Where did it come from? When did it find its way to the bottom of the river? (and now I know what I keep running into at higher water levels in that section…). A beautiful fall day!
