SRWA with Marlies Paddles aka Boat Beautiful Billerica traveled the meandering Shawsheen River downstream from Akeson at Putin 5 in Billerica to 2000 Whipple Road at Putin 8 in Tewksbury. Some of us continued to Putin 9 at Knights of Columbus in Tewksbury. Traversing the aqueduct was the absolute highlight of the trip for all of us. Later, an elegant deer scampered through high grasses on the river bank and then crossed to the other side. It was a great morning ducking under fallen trees. floating with the current, and enjoying the company of other paddlers.
