Salamander eggs in Vernal pool by Danna BamburyPlease join us for the SRWA Annual Meeting. Our guest speaker, Matt Burne, is the Conservation Director with the Walden Woods Project, a non-profit organization based in Lincoln, MA. Prior to this, he spent 10 years working as an ecologist and environmental reviewer for the Massachusetts Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program, where he focused on vernal pools and their wildlife. Matt has conducted vernal pool research and public outreach for many years, and is a co-author of a Field Guide to the Animals of Vernal Pools.

Matt will present an interesting slide show and talk about the biology of vernal pools. Vernal pools are seasonal wetlands teeming with life and important to a healthy ecosystem.

SRWA is a non-profit, all volunteer organization with a mission to protect, restore, and enjoy the Shawsheen River and its watershed. Our meetings are open to the public. Find the Shawsheen River Watershed Association on Facebook.
